Mexico is the fifth-largest nation of the Americas, home to more than 111 million, the majority of whom live in the capital of Mexico City. The nation has solidified its stance as an upper-middle income country, and is an emerging power in global affairs. Developmental efforts to get Young Life (Vida Joven) under way in Mexico have created a foundation upon which the ministry is only beginning to build. Alberto Martinez leads a club in Puerto Peñasco. Astrid Prere, Mexican National and Fred Johnson are establishing a scalable model from the southern most state of Chiapas. An emerging effort is also under way in Monclova where Josue Ortiz is already spreading the word about Young Life to the community. Each effort continues to mold and develop leaders, eager to begin deepening its roots in the lives of kids with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
