Since before Chris and I were married, we individually felt that our hearts were open towards adoption. After all, we are all adopted into God's family, and what a better picture of the Father's love than loving and welcoming an orphan as your own. Now, we have been married for 11 years. We've experienced the love and struggles of raising our first two children and the heartache of a third child who has gone on to Heaven ahead of us. I hear of pastors being called to a specific church and missionaries being called to a mission field. I never understood what being "called" felt like before I was called. Sunday January 3, I was called to adopt. I'll never forget that day. I believe God works in us when we are willing. I called Chris who was at the Passion conference. He was in complete agreement before I could even finish my thoughts. One major obstacle to bringing home our new daughter is finances. The estimated cost to adopt equals my annual salary at Emory. We are saving and raising money! Please partner with us financially to allow us to bring our daughter home sooner. Lord surround our daughter with merciful and loving care givers and protect and keep her safe.
