The journey of adoption started for us in 2012 when Abbie sensed a strong call from the Lord for our family to adopt. Three years later as the Lord continued to move in our hearts and gave us both a growing desire to adopt, we decided to pursue what that would look like for our family. As we began to talk and pray about "where" we should adopt from we both felt a very clear prompting from the Lord that Haiti was the location. So really this journey started back in 2007 when we led a team of high school students on a short-term missions trip to Haiti; seeing and experiencing first-hand the difficult realities and the wonderful people of Haiti. The reality is, there is no right and no wrong place to adopt from. Ultimately God's heart is that we care for the orphan, but for us He has specifically given us a heart for kids in Haiti. So we've begun the process and started the journey to adopt a set of siblings to become a part of our family. We know the journey is hard and the process is long, but we are walking by faith and are so thankful for the support of family and friends as we seek to follow the Lord's lead and plan for our family. In September of 2016 our first "phase" was completed. Our dossier reached Haiti and we officially are "in process"; now we wait for them to select and match us with a sibling set that will forever become a part of our family! The journey continues ...
