Two years ago I became a mother. It was a lifelong dream, and involved a lot of waiting. When I first saw the face of my Ugandan princess, Dorie, my heart knew. It just KNEW. Dorie has adjusted amazingly well. She is now 7 and the light of my life. We have really enjoyed becoming a family, but we both feel like someone is missing. God seems to agree with us, so we are heading back to adopt another Ugandan princess. As a single mom, this is a daunting task. Fundraising is exhausting, and it is time consuming. I don't want to spend a lot of time away from Dorie. I hate asking for money. I don't want anyone to feel obligated. But I have had several people approach me and ask if they could just donate cash rather than ordering from a fundraiser. So I searched out a way to at least make their donations tax deductible, and found AdoptTogether. I want to thank everyone who helped bring Dorie home...it was God's miracle, and you were His hands. I trust He is going to do it again, and am thankful for each and every one of you who share God's heart for the orphans. My family would not exist without you, and we are forever grateful. Much love, Melissa & Dorie
