We've been happily married for nine years, and have wanted to raise a family together from the beginning. After battling with infertility for about six years, we took a hard look at our options. As soon as the idea of adoption was on the table, we both knew it's what we wanted to do. We shared the plan with our family early on in the process, and were (and continue to be) completely overwhelmed by the love and support that we've received. The whole family is working together through garage sales, furniture purchases, and checks in the mail to make sure we can give a child a good, and loving home. Adoption, however, is an expensive process. We've set our goal at $25,000 because that's roughly the average cost of adopting an infant in the USA. It also explains why over 23,000 children age out of foster care each year (based on a 2014 report). There are legal fees, home study fees, and more. We're, asking for your help today because we want to provide the best start possible for our baby. Instead of paying back loans, we want to save for a good university and be able to afford an excellent preschool a little down the road. If we can start as debt-free as possible, we can provide a better life for our child, and that's the goal with this fundraising page.
